Vermilion runs a dedicated implementations division consisting of project managers, business and technical consultants, technical specialists, and product and technical trainers specifically charged with ensuring best practices and the highest calibre implementation and product expertise is provided to every customer.

Vermilion ensures that all staff are constantly kept up to date with all product enhancements and features and that implementation projects are structured for success from the outset. To ensure this success, Vermilion employs their own implementation methodology.

The Vermilion Implementation methodology is intended to address those issues that contribute to project failures and overruns. We therefore aim to minimise or mitigate risks to a project and ensure that it remains fully under our joint control from inception until completion.

The methodology is based on the industry standard PRINCE2 methodology, but adapted specifically for client reporting projects using the VRS product, and incorporates a structure and phased approach that all clients would recognise.

The methodology is used for all projects from the pre-sales phase through to post-implementation, incorporating estimation models, requirements and environment analysis capture, project tracking at elemental levels, status reporting, development, test, UAT, operational documentation, technical and user training, final and phased releases and post implementation support. To achieve this, along with standard project planning and tracking tools, Vermilion also utilise their own highly effective Vermilion Accounts Matrix utility to ensure that all the project deliverables are properly identified and managed.

At Vermilion we believe successful system implementations can only be achieved through strong partnership with our Clients. This partnership approach will be detailed in a Project Charter, which will define the project deliverables, client side responsibilities, check points and other pertinent details.

We also believe that product and environment training and familiarisation should start as early on in the project as possible and should include the business end users from the outset, and as such the hands-on project team makeup is encouraged to include a mix of both Vermilion and customer resources from the start.
